Pretoria, known as the Jacaranda City for all the purple blossom-bedecked trees, which line its thoroughfares, it boasts the longest urban street in South Africa known as the Stanza Bopape Street (formerly known as Church Street) It is the longest street in any of our country’s cities, and at 26 km, is one of the longest urban streets in the world. Pretoria is a lovely, quiet city and straddles the Apies River and extends eastward into the foothills of Magaliesberg mountains. It has a long, involved and fascinating history. The city of Pretoria is located in the northern part of Gauteng. It is one of South Africa’s three capital cities, serving as the administrative capital of the country Pretoria has a moderate with similar temperatures to Johannesburg but usually one or three degrees higher. The warm pleasant climate makes it a great place to stay all year round.
